Loy
Seng enjoyed a long and illustrious career in the airline and aviation
industry.
Loy
Seng started his career in Qantas Airways as a Licensed Aircraft
Engineer using his Australian DCA Aircraft Engineer license. He left
Qantas as a Line Foreman to join Malaysia-Singapore Airlines.
When
Singapore Airlines (SIA) was first established, Loy Seng joined SIA.
From 1966 to 1985, Loy Seng was tasked to open line stations in Taipei,
Bali and Jakarta as Station Maintenance Manager and later as Line
Maintenance Manager. 1986 to 1987 he was the GM of SATS Apron Services
From
1988 to 1990, Loy Seng was task to start up a new region airline
Tradewinds (now Silk Air) and became the first General Manager. Loy
Seng then went on to become GM SATS Cargo and was instrumental in the
set up of SIA Cargo Super Hub.
After
his project to set up Tradewinds and SIA Cargo Super Hub, he returns to
SIA Line Maintenance as Vice President Line Maintenance (VP LMSS). Loy
Seng retires from SIA in 2003. After his official retirement from SIA,
he was asked to head a SIA subsidiary as General Manager of Singapore
Jamco.
