Wan Fook Chuen
Aircraft Technical and Cabin Crew Training
Fook Chuen enjoyed a long and illustrious career in the airline and
aviation industry.
Fook
Chuen started his career in Malaysia-Singapore Airlines in 1960 as an
Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer under a 5- year aircraft
apprenticeship program including attending part-time studies on a
day-release basis at the Singapore Polytechnic.
When
Singapore Airlines (SIA) was first established, Fook Chuen joined SIA
and was the Technical Instructor from 1965 to 1970 responsible for
ground training for Pilots and Flight Engineers and technical training
for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Artisans and Apprentices.
From
1970-1975, Fook Chuen was appointed Technical Training Superintendent
responsible for ground training for Pilots and Fight Engineers and
technical training for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Artisans and
Apprentices. And assisted the Engineering Training Manager in running
the school.
From
1975 to 1985, Fook Chuen was promoted to Engineering Training Manager
in charge of the Engineering Training School and Apprenticeship
Training for Flight Engineers, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Workshop
Engineers and Artisans.
From
1985 to 1989, Fook Chuen was the Cabin Crew Manager (Product
Development) responsible for SIA’s inflight service including inflight
/ mail order sales and galley planning.
From
1989 to 1991, Fook Chuen, was the Cabin Crew Manager (Control Centre)
responsible for monitoring crew movements, flight disruptions, delays
and system wide and round the clock to ensure that SIA flights /
services are not disrupted.
Fook
Chuen retired from Singapore Airlines in 1991. After his official
retirement from SIA, Fook Chuen joined GUANGZHOU AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE
ENGINEERING CO. LTD (GAMECO), Guangzhou as the Deputy Training Manager
